Here is what people have said about the heat from their current handles.
The new grill has a plastic handle which gets dangerously hot unlike my old grill which has wooden handles. I called Weber to complain and their response was to wear an oven mitt. I believe that this handle gets so hot as to represent a danger to anyone who touches it. I think that the name "one touch" must mean that you touch it once and you'll never touch it again.

I have used Weber kettle grills for over 10 years with very reliable service. I recently purchased one of the new Silver Series grills. They changed the handles from wood to plastic, and I find the plastic handles to heat up to the point where you cannot use them without a glove or towel.
