Leptospirosis can be caused by infected rats, mice and other rodent urine.
The Hanta Virus is carried by rodents, especially deer mice. The virus is found in their urine and feces, but it does not make the animal sick.
There is also the potential for feces related bacteria such as e Coli. All this and more can potentially be found on the drinking area and can top rim.
