Skywater™ presents a light-duty tool expected to make rainwater more usable; suitable for light to moderate rain. It offers an easy approach to rain harvesting, without drain modification or rain barrels. Skywater™ is a simple water conservation device allowing users to connect 1-2 hoses to a drain downspout. It directs rainwater away from buildings to trees, yards, and gardens for immediate natural storage. Skywater™ adds thousands of free rainwater gallons to landscaping over the course of a season, keeping yards healthy and hydrated.
Skywater™ leads the next generation of residential rain harvesting, performing with or without rain barrels. Simple thumbscrew attachment allows homeowners easy entry into water conservation and supplemental irrigation. The connector bridges gaps between storms, building deepwater storage while reducing municipal water demand. Skywater™ is light, portable, and visually discreet, appealing to water savings, green living, and healthy landscapes. Ten inches of rainfall on a 1,000 sq.-ft. roof yields over 6,000 gallons of water.
The connector is only for 2”x 3” standard downspouts typically found in home improvement centers. It requires 1.5” all-around clearance for proper fit. Two plastic spacers are included, if needed, to ensure a snug fit. A tight seal is essential: push Skywater™ firmly onto downspout and tighten thumbscrews alternately. Attach 1-2 water hoses to the connector (hose cap not included). The connector includes an extra neoprene gasket for extended product life. Skywater™ installs and removes within a minute.
The connector works, and it works well. How much rainwater diverted depends on the owner's drainpipe system. Rainwater is channeled into two small water hoses and may back-up the drainpipe. In some systems, this may cause seeping from drainpipe joints. Sealed joints and debris-free gutters work best. Buyers should be aware of their drainpipe condition and consider this before making a purchase. If this is acceptable, fixable, or a non-issue, then Skywater™ may work for you.
Skywater™ simplifies rain harvesting with a user-friendly, low-cost tool. It offers a viable water conservation product for all ages and income levels. Made and assembled in USA.

Skywater™ fills a niche in water conservation and supplemental irrigation: making rainwater usable with a simple tool. The connector brings residential rain harvesting into the mainstream.
Skywater™ is a lawn & garden product with the following benefits: (1) remove water away from foundations, (2) direct rainwater to trees, yards, and gardens for immediate natural storage, (3) save water and a little money with a user-friendly product.
Current market products generally involve projects, like rain barrel systems, where users must be tool proficient to modify drains, install diverters, and maintain barrels. Users are left with aesthetic issues and on-going maintenance for a few extra gallons. Rain barrel systems generally cost over $100.
Whereas, Skywater™ potentially redirects all rainwater directly into the ground for immediate storage, avoiding barrel blight, mosquito issues, and long-term commitment. It can also complement rain barrel systems as a flow diverter. Skywater™ sells for one-fourth the cost of a rain barrel system, providing an easier approach to rain harvesting than currently available products.
