Beginning in Jan 2012 our beloved incandescent bulbs that have remained essentially unchanged since Thomas Edison invented them will begin a federally mandated phase-out expected to be completed by 2014. Consumers will soon be faced with bewildering array of odd-shaped bulbs that clip-on lampshades were never designed to fit. The major bulb manufacturers have addressed this problem by producing new CFL’s that have a more traditional round shape. But these are essentially spiral CFL’s with a glass globe over them that typically retail for more than twice the price of the spiral counterparts of the same wattage. The Magic Toob Lampshade Leveler is the only product on the market today that addresses the clip-on lampshade / odd-shaped bulb conundrum from the standpoint of the shade rather than the bulb.
