The storage of yard tools and implements has long been an issue for me as a home owner. In the past I stored tools in the corner of my garage, but had the problem of a lack of portability and stability. I purchased a Rubbermaid Tool Tower Long Handle Tool Storage device, but had a terrible time keeping it upright and together (it kept falling apart when I stored heavy implements such as shovels). I finally threw it away in frustration.
I invented The Disk Whiz ™ as an efficient storage method by using trash cans as a receptacle. I designed a flat, disk-like, one-size-fits-all product uniquely shaped to fit inside the inner diameter of most regular sized trash cans, and another for most large-sized trash cans, to receive and organize long handled tools.
The advantage of The Disk Whiz ™ is that it is an uncomplicated, inexpensive storage option that requires no additional parts or modifications to the trash can. It simply slides into the trash can and rests securely on the inside where the trash can tapers below the opening. The Disk Whiz ™ fits a wide range of container sizes because of its specially engineered shape, and because it slides down to wherever the trash receptacle narrows.

This simple, single disk design allows for tools to spread apart at a slight angle, and reduces the chance of entanglement with other tools, and adds balance by lowering the center of gravity to prevent tip-overs. Also, I found my trash can to be very stable, even while storing up to ten heavy yard implements. By putting sand in the bottom of the trash can, one can add more stability if needed.
The Disk Whiz ™ is also very useful to people who want to use their tools at a location remote from the storage area by using a wheeled trash can, while keeping their tools easily accessible and organized.
