The Bottoms Up Dog Food Storage Container is a patent pending answer to the chore of constantly bending over for bulk items; dog food, a variety of pet and animal feeds, rice, beans, flour, sugar, wood pellets, kitty litter, charcoal, or whatever comes in 20-50 lb. bags. We even have people using it as an assisted garbage removal system.

Originally designed around a 40 lb. bag of dog food, the Bottoms Up (Dog Food) Storage Container reacts to the depletion of the product by elevating the remaining contents keeping the product within easy reach. This unit will help defend your back from yet another daily bending task.

Sturdy and easy to handle, it weighs about the same as the dog food it was designed to store. Only slightly larger than the bag itself, the unit fits wherever the bag would. At the present time we are offering the convenient 12” x 18” x 36” tall size that fits in with most household cabinetry. Our standard Kitchen Model comes in five finishes.

Bottoms-Up Storage Container pertains to the elimination of bending, twisting, and reaching while retrieving products from inconveniently stored bulk bags. This innovative product comprises a storage cabinet, made from cut and assembled wood and trim. The cabinet includes a finished lid, doors, carry handles, and knob. The doors are hinged on the front with piano hinges. Drawer slides are mounted inside the bottom of the cabinet, and an elevating sub-assembly (inner platform, adapter plate, and gas spring with hardware) is installed and fastened to the slides. The assembly can move up and down in response to load weight.

To use, people can place a bag up to 50 pounds into the cabinet on the platform. In response to the weight, the platform will go down to the bottom position. As the contents of the bag deplete, the weight on the platform reduces, causing the platform to rise. This will keep the contents of the bag at the top of the cabinet for convenient accessibility. One hinged door on the front of the cabinet can open to load a bag onto the platform without struggle. The other offers access to the storage area below the elevating platform. The cabinets are made from prefinished maple and birch wood. There are natural maple finished and stained units to complement kitchen cabinets and more.

This design would be desirable in Stainless Steel similar to the garbage cans on the market. An economy version in molded plastic would also sell well at the right price point. Inventor also envisions a retrofit kit that could be inserted into existing storage containers and garbage cans.
