Bottlelink® has many benefits. It is easy and inexpensive to produce. It is low cost to customers. It is easy to clean and easy to use. It is colorful and attractive to babies and small children. It lacks direct competition and is needed in the market-place.
Product Type
Bottlelink® falls under the childcare, feeding and/or baby toy umbrella. The invention is a securing device for preventing bottles or sippy cups from falling onto unclean surfaces.
Need
The need for Bottlelink® is there. Every baby throws things. A bottle or sippy cup is one of the most common items that a child will throw. The downfall of throwing such an object is the fact that if and when the baby bottle hits the floor it becomes contaminated with whatever is on the floor. Public places are the worst in terms of dirty areas.
Description
Bottlelink® is a device for securing an object to limit the movement thereof. A first feature of Bottlelink® is a gripping means or device to connect and securely hold a baby bottle or sippy cup. The gripping means is preferably a silicone/elastic band. This is easily attached to a second feature being a linking chain having a plurality of links, preferably being similarly shaped, providing means for allowing movement of the object by a person within a limited distance from the person. The linking chain is connected to the gripping means for removably connecting and securely holding the object of concern. A third feature is an anchor securing link or anchor link for providing means for removably connecting said device to an anchor object. The anchor link prevents the baby from disconnecting the object from the anchor object, and further due to the length of the linking chain prevents the object from contacting a floor, or other unclean surface when either intentionally or accidentally dropped or thrown.
Competition
Bottlelink® ‘s only main competition appears to be bottle restraining devices made of cord, porous string or straps. The downfall of any of these items would be that they can absorb milk or any other drink and can not be easily cleaned and dried. They also could pose a choking hazard. Lastly, the strap solutions aren’t interesting to babies and toddlers. Below are three competitive options that do not compare to Bottlelink®:
· Title: Drop Stop. A loop is attached to the bottleneck and drawn tight by a cord locking device. Another end of the belt is attached to a cup and the other end can be attached to a rail of a stroller.
· Title: Article Restraint. The device has a flexible sleeve that fits about a baby bottle. A tether is attached to the sleeve and the other end has a loop.
· Title: Safety Tether. The device is a strap having one end with a loop. The other end has a clip that connects to a ring being an integral part of the cap.
