We manufacture a silky soft, tropical strength insect repellent lotion in 27 fabulous scents using fresh heirloom taro that is authentically processed. NON- GMO ingredients and Keiki (children) safe. The effective ingredient is the kale'ai. The Hawaiians have been using kale'ai for generations to protect the skin of the keiki or young children from mosquitoes and the UV rays of the sun, as they worked in the taro patches. Citronella and essential oils sprays evaporate due to their volatile nature and required reapplication.

Citronella and essential oils sprays evaporate due to their volatile nature and required reapplication. Our lotion is made from unrefined tree nuts and seeds ground into butters and oils and then emulsified with the kale'ai. All of our lotion formulas use fresh Makaweli taro that has been grown in the same lo'i (taro patches) by the same ohanas (families) of Mahi'ai or farmers for many generations. Processing the taro or kalo is a long and hot process and if not done properly you will have scratchy skin! Smoky Valley Lotions brings this authentic formula to the market for the first time in Hawaiian history. And because this is a lotion it is absorbed into the skin without evaporating like essential oil sprays will. The result is a long lasting AKA affordable way to safely repel insects while leaving the skin very soft. The local Hawaiian who spend their days in the hot tropical sun do not have leather skin, hhhhmmmmmm..
NON-GMO, safe for children, TESTED EFFECTIVE, CHEMICAL FREE-NO DEET- NO CITRONELLA. lasts longer than essential oil sprays that are not only expensive but offensive smelling. Our lotions smell fabulous. To date we have 27 scents like Plumeria, Gardenia, Mango, Guava just to name a few. We haven't left out the men! We offer manly scents as well. No one would ever know that you are wearing an insect repellent, making this lotion ideal for public use such as an out door wedding party, dining with friends, listening to live music in the park or an evening jam session at the local resort. I never get tired of introducing new customers to this lotion. Once I put a little on their skin and listen to the ooos and aawws, I inform them that this is a repellent and watch their jaw drop.

Prior Sales Activity: | I made this for myself then shared with my neighbors and friends who in turn requested more for their families and friends on the outer islands. This lotion while still in its untitled state, was instantly spread thru the island chain in any kind of jar or bottle on hand. I knew I was on to something important when people would bring me peanut butter jars to fill without caring which scent they received. There is a local chain here of 78 stores that I am negotiating a wholesale agreement with. They are starting a "Fight The Bite" campaign. They are known to be extremely frugal so I am taking baby steps with them. I am in the completion stage on the construction of our lab located right here on the farm. I am a successful business professional with business operations as my forte', now ready to serve the wholesale market. This is the time to get in on the ground floor sort to speak as we are limited to manufacturing about 30,000 units per month. |
