Product Details

The Bondaroo is a breakthrough in skin to skin kangaroo care for dads. The Bondaroo features a flap allowing the user to easily and conveniently engage in skin to skin bonding with their newborn. Although the Bondaroo does not carry your baby, it is designed to facilitate active bonding between you and your infant. This skin to skin shirt made just for dads, is constructed with a Bamboo (66%) & Cotton (29%) blended jersey with a small amount of Spandex (5%) to keep its shape. The placket fastener is High Technology Velcro. Smooth on the hook side to prevent damage to skin and no seams on the loop side to cause any harm to baby or daddy. This is NOT your standard Velcro. We are 100% made in the USA, our fabrics are knitted in Montebello CA and our production factories are in downtown Los Angeles.

Product Selling Benefits

Dads benefit from skin to skin bonding with their baby:

Become empowered to care for your new baby
Begin the bonding process with your baby from the start
Skin to skin helps you stay calmer and be a better emotional support
Become intuitive to your baby's signs of hunger or worry
Can help you get more and better sleep

Scientifically, it is clear that babies that participate in skin to skin bonding have better
outcomes. Myron Hofer, a psychiatrist with Columbia University Medical Center who
studies attachment, coined the term "hidden regulators" that pass between mother and baby. It's not just that mother and baby are together, says Dr. Larry Gray, behavioral and developmental pediatrician at Comer Children's Hospital at the University of Chicago Medicine, but also that these “regulators” are in some way "programming the baby; the breathing, temperature and heart rate.” That magic can also happen between baby and father. “Even a little bit of kangaroo contact can be beneficial,” says Dr. Gray. Additionally, Dr. Nathalie Charpak, pediatrician from the Kangaroo Foundation in Bogota Colombia states "Kangaroo style care has significant long-lasting social and behavioral protective effects 20 years after the intervention.” There are 29 studies from 9 countries published on the National Institutes of Health website regarding the importance of bonding with newborns and infants. The conclusion is clear: Skin to Skin contact is critical to healthy development of newborns and essential to premature babies development.
