Leaf Gator enables individuals to easily and conveniently scoop up leaves and deposit them in a container by utilizing uniquely designed handles. This unique product consists of two long handles, similar to broom handles, pinned together at a point above the center of each handle. There are gripping assemblies at the top end of the handles. These assemblies differ from traditional yard tools in that they are angled outward and designed to follow the individual’s natural arm positioning. Rubber grippers are placed at the ends for secure and comfortable holding. The handles pivot about a pin bolt and create a pincer motion at the end. Attached to the opposite end of the handles are a small rake on one handle and a small shovel on the other. When the operator opens the handles, the end with the rake and shovel can open so that the operator can plunge them into a pile of leaves. The operator can then close the handles, creating a pincer action on the leaves. The operator can then easily and comfortably pick up the leaves. When the operator has the leaves over a can or bag, he or she can simply open the handles and deposits the leaves. The operator can also rotate the handles about the pivot point and can either rake or shovel individually, depending on which end is required at the time.
